The color scheme here is attractive and very familiar from what we've seen from ASRock on recent motherboards: the PCB is entirely black, with various components colored in medium blue and white. The look is almost monochromatic, but there's something about this color scheme that is pleasing. ASRock has done a great job with aesthetics, particularly with their recent motherboard products.
A quick overview of the 890GX Extreme4 reveals the layout is very good, with fan headers and onboard power/reset buttons strategically placed and accessible, and there is plenty of maneuvering room between component areas to work without worrying about stressing yourself in the process. The 890FX Deluxe5 features V8 + 2 power phase with lower power load for easier overclocking with ASRock DuraCap (2.5 x longer life time), 100% Japan-made high-quality Conductive Polymer Capacitors, designed to improve the durability and longevity of the board and also withstand the increased voltages and heat from overclocking. During our attempts to find the maximum speeds, we were less concerned about optimizing voltages and minor tweaks or settings. Overclocking the 890GX Extreme4 produced extremely good results, and the new UEFI BIOS was able to extract some impressive horsepower out of the chip. Read more...
